I typed this up after the podcasts, it doesn’t have all the good stuff….!
Q: Why is your official launch in September?
A: Simply because, I will graduate from a degree program around that time, and I should be finished with the AAPC instructor curriculum by then too. I’ll have the time to devote once that happens.
In the meantime, I put up the website and social sites to bring free stuff to everyone while I test out the different platforms and software I am using.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I am from Louisiana and I live in Baton Rouge. <– YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO HEAR THE ACCENT
Q: How many certifications do you have? And what will you get next?
A: 14. From AAPC I have 10 and 4 more from other organizations.
- CPC 9/2016 AAPC
- CCA 11/2016 AHIMA
- CPCD 12/2017 AAPC
- CEPFG 3/2019 CompetentSee CoderScore <– invite only, ask me for an invite if you need one (EMAIL ME)

- CPMA 8/15/2020 AAPC

I am currently trying to become an AAPC Approved Instructor for example, a CPC – I.
I’m studying for a few others too CEHRS, CMAA, CCMA (NHA), RMA (AMT), CMA (AAMA). I will let the listeners google those, but they are for the EHR and administrative/medical assisting. No, I am not stopping…
Q: What is an IP Profee code? Give me an example of a code that would be used.
Answer: Well… that is a broad question. Basically, the entire C P T book and some HCPCS codes too because profee means professional services. Basically, anything that the provider is going to charge for in the IP setting would be an IP profee code. Assuming the listener means E&M coding, codes 99221-223 for initial IP and codes 99231-99233 for subsequent for consults 99251-255. Warning though, a lot of payors don’t take consult codes.
Fun fact: The CPC Certification: Certified PROFESSIONAL Coder does not mean that the coder is a professional at coding. Professional means Professional Fee, which is why there is NO I C D – 10 – P C S coding in any of the curriculums offered (except for C I C) from A A P C. American Academy of Professional Coders.
